Harley-Davidson launched its sub-brand, LiveWire, a while ago to cater to the EV segment. Then, it rolled out the S2 Del Mar Launch Edition last year, which was sold out in just a few minutes. Now, the American EV maker has announced the pricing and release date of the 2024 S2 Del Mar.

LiveWire has priced the new S2 Del Mar at USD 15,499 (approximately Rs. 12.7 lakh, sans taxes), which is about USD 1,500 less than before. Its deliveries will commence in July 2023, and the reservations have already begun in America. It’ll undercut the LiveWire One, which sits at USD 22,799 (approximately Rs. 18.7 lakh).

The brand also aims to enter the US market with the S2 Del Mar European Launch edition. Only 100 units of this model will be made, and LiveWire will paint them in the Himalayan White colour and other handmade graphics.

LiveWire has equipped the Del Mar with an electric motor that makes 249Nm torque and its claimed range is 177km. It asserts that it can go from a standstill to 100km in just 3.1 seconds. LiveWire also claims that the electric motorcycle can be charged from 20 to 80 per cent in 75 minutes under the level two charging – it comes with level one and level two charging and doesn’t get fast charging. We expect the S2 Del Mar to feature built-in GPS, internet connectivity for OTA updates, and LED illumination as well.

The likelihood of the LiveWire S2 Del Mar launching in India is very low since the EV market here is focused more towards being pocket-friendly.
