iPhone 15 launch

iPhone 15 launch: Apple will likely launch its latest iPhone 15 smartphone in India and other markets in September this year if we go by previous events. The exact launch date is of course under wraps because it is too early for the company to reveal the same. But, it is not too early to know about the phone as leaks have already given a lot of the details about the iPhone 15 smartphone. Here is what to expect in terms of price, design, and specifications of the 2023 iPhone.

iPhone 15 launch: Expected price

So far, even the leaks haven’t given clarity on what could be the price of the iPhone 15. It has been reported that the price of the upcoming iPhone could be the same as the older version – iPhone 14. To recall, the iPhone 14 was announced in India with a starting price of Rs 79,900. The new version could be priced in a similar range or Apple could decide to increase the price by a certain margin if it offers a newer design. There is no confirmation on this as of now and we will likely get clarity once the iPhone 15 launches.

iPhone 15 launch: Design changes that could come to this year’s model

The leaks have so far claimed that the standard model in the iPhone 15 series will get Apple’s new Dynamic Island feature. This means that the flagship phone will have a punch-hole display design. Though, there is no official confirmation on this. This design is currently limited to only iPhone 14 Pro models. But, this might change this year, which is something that has been in the rumour mill for some time now. This will also help Apple differentiate the new version from previous models as the company was heavily criticized last year for offering the same design on regular models for years.

In addition to this, the leaks suggest that the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus could feature a frosted glass back with a matt finish, just like what we saw on last year’s iPhone 14 Pro models. We could also see a USB Type C port at the bottom instead of Apple’s proprietary Lightning port.

iPhone 15 launch: Expected specifications, features

The iPhone 15 will likely pack Apple’s Bionic A16 chipset under the hood, which powered last year’s iPhone 14 Pro models. This is something that the company started last year – offering one-year flagship phone lower priced models. Hence, the same is expected to happen with the new ones too.

While the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models may not be getting major design upgrades compared to the Pro variants, they are at least getting better cameras, according to the leaks. The regular versions are said to feature 48-megapixel cameras that we have seen on the Pro models of iPhone 14 series. This would be a major upgrade over the 12-megapixel sensors seen on the existing iPhone models. But, one should not expect to see a telephoto lens for optical zoom or a LiDAR on the standard models because this will reportedly be available only with the higher-end models.
