Qualcomm Introduces Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2: A popular American semiconductor company has announced its latest Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 processor which would cater to the mid-range 7 series smartphones. The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 will be a successor to the existing Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 and has improved performance, better GPU settings, and even better speeds.

Qualcomm revealed that the new addition features a 1+3+4 architecture and a Kryo CPU with a promise of a 50% boost, increasing the clock speed to 2.91 GHz. It also includes an Adreno GPU and claims to give twice the performance of its predecessor.

The company used the TSMC 4nm processing technology, claiming a 13 percent improvement in power efficiency. Furthermore, Qualcomm Elite Gaming features such as Auto Variable Rate Shading (VRS), Volumetric Rendering, and Snapdragon Sound with Qualcomm aptX for lossless audio streaming and lag-free gaming sound have been introduced.

The company has also concentrated on artificial intelligence, promising a 2x improvement in performance and a 40% improvement in performance per Watt over its predecessor. Moreover, AI Super Resolution will allow users to upscale games and photo viewing.


In addition, the new processor includes an 18-bit Triple ISP that can allow up to 200 MP photo capture and HDR video capture with triple exposure from two cameras at the same time.

In terms of connectivity enhancements, the chipset now has the Snapdragon X62 5G Modem-RF System, which implies that 4G/5G Dual-SIM Dual Active (DSDA) compatibility will be available. In addition, the chipset includes the Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 Mobile Connectivity System for improved WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 alignment.
