Xiaomi could even surprise us with an Ultra model. However, no such details have been revealed in the launch announcement post. - XiaomiCEO Lei Jun posted on X that the Xiaomi 14 series will be launching on February 25th, 2024. That’s when MWC 2024 kicks off, and the company has also announced a smart ecosystem event at MWC. If you recall, the Xiaomi 13 series also came out at last year’s MWC.
Mr Jun’s post is captioned “the #LensToLegend journey begins. Get ready to be inspired.” As we can see from the poster, Xiaomi is continuing the Leica partnership. The lens in question will be tuned by this German camera company. Since the phones are available in China, we have a fair idea of what to expect in terms of its cameras and more. Here, have a look:

In addition to these, there’s a rumour that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will be launching soon and perhaps it could launch alongside the above two phones. The Ultra variant has appeared on Geekbench and it could bring satellite connectivity, a Leica Summilux lens with an adjustable aperture, and HyperOS software. It could be priced higher and is expected to land in India too as per a recent BIS listing.

Regarding the display, Xiaomi and TCL worked together to create the Huaxing C8 AMOLED screen found in the 14. It has a 6.36-inch screen with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, a 120Hz LTPO refresh rate, and 1.5K resolution. The screen supports Dolby Vision, HLG, and HDR 10+ and has an embedded fingerprint scanner. Gorilla Glass Victus serves as a shield for the display.
The Xiaomi 14 has Leica-branded cameras in its photo area. Comparing the smartphone’s Vario Summilux aspherical lens to the Summicron on the Xiaomi 13 from the previous year, it is claimed to provide better photography. A 50MP OIS-enabled telephoto unit, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP Hunter 900 primary sensor make up the combination.
