Kawasaki Ninja: Kawasaki has launched the latest iteration of the Ninja ZX-10RR in USA. The litre-class supersport has received a few tweaks while retaining its original essence. Let’s have a look at the updated model.

The 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR features a track-ready design and looks very sporty and aggressive. It retains the split LED headlights topped by a bubble visor. Right at the centre is the bike’s air intake and for 2024, Kawasaki has tweaked the bike’s internals.

Inside the ZX-10RR’s airbox is a new variable air intake system (VAI). It comprises a pair of movable intake funnels that operate as per the rotations per minute (RPM). At high RPMs, the intake passes through the system as the funnels are fully raised. Whereas, at low RPMs, the units are only 35mm high; therefore, the air passing by is used to improve the low and mid-range performance. However, the setup can be only used with the 10RR in its race setup since it needs a racing ECU and a sub-controller.

The ZX-10RR derives power from a 998cc, inline four-cylinder motor that makes 211bhp and 111.8Nm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and benefits from a bi-directional quickshifter. Even the list of rider aids on the new Ninja ZX-10RR is quite comprehensive. It features four ride modes (sport, rain, road and rider), cruise control, ABS, launch control, IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), engine brake control, traction control, power modes, and more.

All the above mentioned features can be toggled through the TFT screen that also displays other essential readouts like the speedometer, odometer, trip meter, fuel level readout, and more. It also comes with smartphone connectivity for added convenience.

The hardware setup on the 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR consists of 43mm USD balance-free front forks and a linked rear shock, both fully adjustable. Meanwhile, the braking hardware comprises dual 330mm front discs and a single 220mm rear disc. These are mounted on 17-inch alloy wheels, shod to Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres.

In USA, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR is priced at USD 30,499 (approximately Rs. 25 lakh, sans taxes). If Kawasaki India plans to launch the bike in our market, it won’t come cheap by any means and will rival the Ducati Panigale V4, BMW S1000RR, and a few others.
